Easy sambar

I have posted the traditional way of preparing sambar. 

This is the one where you use sambar powder.

Ingredients 
  1. soaked sambar dal - 1/2 cup
  2. tamarind lemon sized
  3. carrot diced - 1/2 cup
  4. potato - 1 diced
  5. pumpkin - 1/4 cup
  6. ash gourd - 1/4 cup
  7. onion - 1 big sliced
  8. fenugreek - 1 tsp
  9. mustard - 1 tsp
  10. curry leaves
  11. oil - 1tbsp
  12. coriander leaves
  13. turmeric powder - 1tsp
  14. salt as reqd.

Pressure cook the dal and vegetables. Keep aside.
Soak the tamarind in a glass of water.
Open the pressure cooker and in medium flame add turmeric powder, sambar powder, and salt. Let it boil add tamarind water give a nice stir. Add water for the required consistency.
Remove from the flame.
Now for thadka heat oil in a pan to it add mustard let it splutter, fenugreek it gives a nice aroma and flavor add few curry leaves. Pour it on top of the sambar.
Transfer to a serving bowl and garnish it with chopped coriander leaves.
