Aloo Paalak

Today when i went to make coffee i saw potatoes and i had spinach too at home so i thought of trying a new dish with potatoes and spinach. I am happy that it turned out good. After seeing this recipe i hope you will also try this.
This is a vegetarian side dish.


Ingredients
5 medium sized boiled and cubed potatoes
1 medium sized onion finely chopped
1 cup of washed and chopped spinach
1 small finely grated tomatoes
1 tsp lemon juice
1 tsp red chilly powder
1/4 tsp turmeric powder
1/4 tsp garam masala powder
1/2 tsp cumin seeds
3 tbsp oil (2+1)
1 tbsp butter
salt to taste

Method
Heat 1 tbsp of oil in a pan add spinach with little salt and cook till it is soft and tender in low flame.
Once cooked increase the flame and evaporate the water in it. Turn off the flame and keep aside.
In another pan heat 2 tbsp of oil add cumin, onion, and saute till golden brown. Add turmeric powder, potatoes, tomatoes, red chilly powder,garam masala powder and salt. Saute the potatoes in medium flame uncovered. When the potatoes begin to turn brown and release flavorable aroma gently stir the spinach to the potatoes.
Stir in the lemon juice. Finally stir in the butter.

Serve with chapathis.
