Aval (pooha) upma


1. Aval — 3 cups
2. onions — 2
3. green chilies – 5 nos
4. turmeric powder — 1/2 tsp
5. chutney dal (Porikadalai) — 2 tbsp
6. groundnuts — 4 tbsp
7. mustard – 1/2 tsp
8. red chilies — 4 nos
9. curry leaves —  10 nos.
10. corriander leaves chopped 1/2 cup
11. half coconut scraped
12. lemon juice — 1 lemon
13. salt as required
14. ghee — 3 tbsp
Method
wash aval 2 – 3 times in water and drain it.
heat ghee in a pan add mustard red chilies and curry leaves
add chutney dal  groundnuts and fry for sometime to it add sliced onions and green chilies and saute till onion turn to golden brown
to this add aval , sprinkle 3 – 4 tbsp of water and salt as reqd.  stir well.
add coconut lemon juice and chopped coriander leaves mix well and remove from flame.
