Green moong dal curry

Ingredients

  1. Green moong dal -1 cup
  2. Jeera 1tsp
  3. Onion 1 medium chopped
  4. Tomato 1 medium chopped
  5. Garlic chopped 1tsp
  6. Turmeric powder 1/4 tsp
  7. Red chilly powder 1/2 tsp
  8. Coriander powder 1/2 tsp
  9. Garam masala 1/4 tsp
  10. Salt to taste
  11. Green chilly 2 chopped
  12. Oil
  13. Coriander leaves
Preparation
  1. Wash and soak the dal for 2 hrs
  2. Heat oil in the cooker add jeera/ cumin seed let it splutter.
  3. Add chopped onion let it turn golden then add garlic, green chilly saute for few mins.
  4. Add tomato , turmeric powder, red chilly powder, coriander powder and garam masala. Saute till the oil separates out.
  5. Add the moong dal give it a good stir.
  6. Close the cooker it with the lid and give upto 3 whistle. 
  7. Allow the pressure to get released and open. 
  8. If required more water add and taste the salt too. If required you can add at this point of time. And allow it boil to required consistency. 
  9. Transfer to the serving bowl and garnish it with coriander leaves.
           It can be served with white rice or roti or chapathi.
